History of DK Advocates dba ANB Services

ANB Services is a small, woman owned, minority-owned business dedicated to serving individuals with barriers to employment. We are committed to continuing and expanding our mission to inspire, influence, and impact individuals from all walks of life. This mission has been at the heart of our services since DK Advocates was founded in 2006, and still functions as the basis of our identity in 2023. Since 2018, ANB Services works closely with a variety of referring agencies to offer full spectrum of employment services to eligible program participants across Arizona doing business as ANB Services.

ANB Services has served a variety of populations as part of both long-term contracts and focused, shorter-term initiatives. To date, ANB Services has contracted with Arizona Department of Economic Security, the Arizona Division of Developmental Disabilities, the Maricopa County W.I.O.A. (Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act) Youth Services Program / ARIZONA@WORK, the Social Security Administration, Magellan Health Services, Mercy Maricopa Integrated Care, Community Partnership of Southern Arizona, the Department of Labor, Phoenix Job Corps., Job for Arizona Graduates (JAG), and Industrial Commission of Arizona. Populations served through these contracts have included youth and adults with mental, developmental, physical, emotional, and intellectual disabilities, as well as individuals with other barriers to employment, including basic computer skills deficiency, limited English proficiency, limited educational attainment, limited prior work history, involvement with juvenile or adult justice system, involvement with he foster care system, low-income status, housing, or food insecurity, and substance dependency.

Since 2006, ANB Services has worked with the Arizona Department of Economic Security’s Rehabilitation Administration to provide eligible Arizonans with high-quality, individualized employment services. Vocational Rehabilitation services currently available through ANB Services including Trial-Work Experience, Work Adjustment Training, Rehabilitation Instructional Services, Job Training, Career Exploration, Pre-ETS, Job Development and Retention, all at NO COST TO PARTICIPANTS.

Youth employment services have been a part of ANB Services programming while incorporating our expertise with youth was continued to develop through several ongoing programs. Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) services mentioned in the previous paragraph, for example, are all available to participants aged 14 and older, and the percentage of youth members that we serve through these programs has increased rapidly from 20% in 2017 to 54% as of June 2020. Participants benefit from ANB Services’s partnerships with corporations and small businesses across the Valley, in employment fields such as animal care, customer service, retail, food services, and trades industry. In 2019, an ANB Services member completed a community-based Work Adjustment Training at Puppies N’ Love / Animal Kingdom, a local pet company. After becoming a key part of their team and completing Work Adjustment Training services, she was hired by the manager as a Part-Time employee. Another VR client obtained employment at Scratch Culinary Kitchen and was named employee of the month. Both clients are still currently employed with these companies and serve as examples of how ANB Service’s community partnerships have benefited clients long-term.

In addition to serving youth through Vocational Rehabilitation programs to individuals with disabilities of all ages, ANB Services has also offered programming specific to Youth. During summers of 2013, 2014, 2015, 2019, 2021, 2022, and 2023, DK Advocates dba ANB Services coordinated short-term internships for high school students in the Phoenix Metropolitan Area through annual participation in the Phoenix Youth R.I.S.E. program. Summer youth participants throughout the years were consistently offered positions after the successful completion of the program.

ANB Services has proactively expanded the reach of our youth services by establishing partnerships with Glendale Unified School District, Peoria Unified School District, and Grad Solutions / Smart schools. Ultimately, ANB Services’ combination of extensive experience with Vocational Rehabilitation contracts, expertise in providing employment services to youth with disabilities, and well-developed network of partnerships with local employers make us confident that ANB Services is perfect for any partnership needs.
